GORAL FOLKLORE FESTIVAL
3. June 2024 Martina Múdra

IMT SMILE, LÚČNICA, ŠTEFAN ŠTEC, AND MIRO JAROŠ TO PERFORM AT THE GORAL FOLKLORE FESTIVAL

Experience Goral traditions in the picturesque village of Ždiar, with a creative program featuring well-known artists as well as traditional local Goral performers.

The Gorals will come to Bachledka to showcase their culture, history, and crafts to visitors. In addition to traditional local culture, visitors can look forward to a stellar lineup.

IMT SMILE, LÚČNICA, MIRO JAROŠ, KRISTÍNA & SOKOLY, ŠTEFAN ŠTEC, and Cimbalkovo will be special guests at the celebration of all Gorals 1200 meters above sea level, right at Bachledka. Children can also look forward to concerts by Hopi, Cupi & Lupi, and Miško with Líška.

In the first half of August, all Gorals will gather at Bachledka to celebrate their festival together from August 9th to 11th. This year marks the 28th Goral Folklore Festival, which will be held once again at 1200 meters above sea level, right at the entrance to the Treetop Walkway.

At Bachledka, all lovers of this unique Slovak culture will find something to enjoy. Organizers have prepared demonstrations of both old and contemporary crafts from Ždiar, with local farmers bringing domestic animals for families to feed and taste local dairy specialties, or even ride a Goral stallion.

IMT SMILE AND KRISTÍNA WITH A TOUCH OF GORAL CULTURE

The event will feature traditional Goral artists offering a blend of folklore, dances, and songs. Goral culture will be interwoven with contemporary elements, and everyone can look forward to stellar concerts. One highlight will be a unique joint concert by Kristína and Sokolov, and folklore enthusiasts will enjoy performances by Lúčnica and the folk music of Štefan Štec. The new Slovak family project Cimbalkovo will bring an exceptional fusion of cimbalom music and young folklorists from all over Slovakia, led by Veronika Hatala, the traditional host of the event.

EXCEPTIONAL IMT SMILE CONCERT AT A UNIQUE VENUE

It’s rare for audiences to experience a concert by Slovakia’s most successful band, IMT Smile, at festivals outside their own tour. Therefore, the participation of Ivan Tásler and his band at Bachledka is a unique opportunity for all who love their songs. You definitely don’t want to miss the IMT Smile concert.

MIRO JAROŠ COMES TO BACHLEDKA

Almost 1200 meters above sea level, popular children’s performers will alternate with local theater groups and children’s folklore ensembles. Miro Jaroš, Cupi & Lupi, Hopi, and Miško with Líška will prepare an extraordinary experience for children.

SUNDAY IS FOR THE COMMUNITY

Sunday’s program will focus primarily on local artists. It will start with a holy mass, followed by a day full of enchanting Goral folklore and history.

WOODCARVERS AND STRAW SCULPTORS

Attendees will also be able to experience a woodcarving symposium, where Goral symbols and nature will be carved from wood. Additionally, new straw sculptures of Goral children will be added to the 4-meter-high Goral and Goralka created by an artist in previous years.
